Chinese ball buttons

Please would someone give me the instructions for making Chinese ball buttons? Or failing this, the name of a well-known book where I can find them. I’m in Australia.

      *Those are very clear directions. Try making the buttons from shoe laces or climbing rope remnants (very colorful).

        *I would like to know how to complete the frog closure if you're using Chinese ball buttons as part of a frog. These are GREAT instructions, by the way.

          *awhile ago, Threads had an article on making 4 different types of frog closures, by Nancy Nehring. if you have back issues available (or at the library?), try issue 58, pp. 32 - 35 (April/May 1995). Nancy also wrote some great articles about making buttons.
