I like frogs! Check the online index for frogs and Chinese ball buttons. Try making the cording with the pile out, but I have a hunch it would provide just the right contrast to make it wrong side out.
thank you so much,
I have also used rhinestoned belt buckles (about an inch wide) with a clasp.
thank you a perfect idea
Two other possibilities: a corded tie (satin would be nice with velvet) with the cord looped into an interesting shape where it attaches to the side, or a covered snap closure with an amazing button on the top layer so that you don't need a buttonhole on the other layer.
thanks yet another great idea
HI! Welcome! If you haven't yet decided, it might be fun to go to a few gem/bead/rock shops and see what strikes your fancy. My favorite one is run by a geologist, they have an incredible assortmant of everything to do with beads and gems, even fossils and minerals. They also carry lapidary supplies for silversmiths and offer a variety of classes. You never know what you might discover. Mary
great idea thanks
