Is anyone experienced in gussets? I’ve been looking for a good websight… any suggestions? Thanks

What sort of gussets, and where do you want to put them? Some of the better printed info I've seen on gussets comes from sewing books in the 1940s and 1950's.
Mostly, I consider gussets as a fix to turn a problem muslin into something wearable, or to allow me to cut a garment out of "not
quite enough fabric".
Typical spots to use gussets are in the armscye (the "wings" of
the usual sleeve pattern function as a gusset) and in the crotch of
pants.... crotch extensions are functional gussets.
Thank you for ideas, I will check out some of the older books at the public library. You are right, those old broads are an excellent resource and one I hadn't thought. of. Why gussets? My daughter has 'football shoulders' and clothes just don't fit... A gusset will give her the fit she likes and hopefully eliminate the fabric stress and popped buttons. Thanks.
For a site featuring 1940's sewing techniques try <http://vintagesewing.com> I hope I have the site right. If that doesn't work let me know and I will check my bookmarks further. Zuwena
