I am new to Gatherings and sewing in general. I am in the process of making my first quilt and love sewing. I just bought a Singer 9940 at Christmas and would like to buy an embroidery machine this upcoming Christmas. I have been on the different brand websites and am so confused about which one is the best. Can anyone shed light on the best embroidery machine to buy. My budget is in the $2000 to $ 2500 range.

There have been a ton of dicussion threads on this subject, why not read through some of the ones posted under "machine embroidery" to see if there is some helfpul information already posted? Also, I believe patternreview.com has some online comparisons as well.
