I began subscribing to threads with the first issue, but about a year ago I dropped my subscription. I don’t want to “sew things this afternoon and wear them tomorrow”. I want to strive to learn processes that will let me have lovely garments years from now.
I don’t want to cause an argument about the merits of beginning sewing articles vs couture articles. This is only my personal opinion.
I bought the February issue off the newsstand on the advice of a sewing friend and it was like I’d gone back in time to those lovely ideas and creations that Threads used to print.
Please, tell me this is the direction Threads is going now and will continue with articles like this. If so, I’ll subscribe immediately.
Thanks,
hatch

Oh Miss Amber!
I SO MUCH agree with 'hatch'.
I pretty much quit sewing when "Fast and Easy" came into fashion! Why bother? Just run out to Kohls and pick up a top 50% off with another 15% off coupon and have another blouse that nobody really wants or can be proud to wear.......................
The reason I began sewing in the early 1960's is because I wanted nicer clothes than I could afford to buy. I certainly didn't want the clothes I could afford.
Now I'm back. Sewing for the EXACT SAME REASON. Perhaps I can afford a little more today, but now I can't find those wonderful clothes at any price.
I want really nice good things that will last in my wardrobe for years to come. Gail
