Cover stitch machine

LindaG | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I’d appreciate any feedback on coverstitch machines or sergers with cover stitch.  Thanks.

    Hi Linda,

I have a Pfaff model 4852 coverlock serger and I LOVE it!  It's very easy to thread and to convert to the coverstitch from the overlock stitches. The tensions are wonderful and easy to use!  I used to work for a Bernina/Pfaff dealer so I've trained on, taught and used both Berninas and Pfaffs, and I've owned Whites.  I think the Pfaff line of sergers is superior to the others in ease of use, threading and set up.  Bernina makes a good machine but you practically have to rebuild the machine to convert to the coverlock stitch and threading it is much harder than the Pfaff.  The two White machines I've had didn't have coverlock options and there were major tension challenges every time I used them.

Good luck with your search and definitely look at the Pfaffs.  I don't sell them any more -- I just think they're the best sergers I've ever used.

    Peg
