COVID-19 Call for Sewing Assistance

Hi Folks,
I am counsel for the Elderwood family of long term care facilities. We operate throughout the Northeast and we are currently working on a PPE donation drive in Western New York in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you have any interest in helping, we would appreciate your skills. We are asking any sewers and sewists to donate their skills and materials by making reusable fabric masks and isolation gowns.
There is a good face mask pattern on www.craftpassion.com and a good isolation gown (full length sleeves and cuffs) on www.peekaboopatternshop.com. Both patterns are free. Also attached.
We’re also looking for supplies. A local manufacturer has agreed to make gowns and masks for the effort, if we can supply materials. So, we’re looking for the following:
- 1500 ft of knit cuffing (2-3” wide)
- 2000 yds of bias tape
- 250 feet of Velcro
- 3100 yds poly-cotton blend
- 100 feet of ¼” elastic
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. You can contact the Donation Center at (716) 250-0062 or by email at [email protected]. Also, donations should be sent to:
NYSHFA/Elderwood PPE Donation Drive
Elderwood Transportation
1142 Wehrle Drive
Williamsville, NY 14221
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!
Best regards,
Rich
