My post is 37112 and I posted it under fabrics and trim. I am making a sheer overlay for a wedding dress but the overlay is all scallped on the bottom. So I am trying to figure out how to cut the pattern pieces out for the overlay so that it matches all around the bottom The overlay is not straight as the front seams with the back pieces but kind of goes out in a circle to make a small train in the back of the dress so thats why I am having a hard time.

Cut afterwards?
I think I would cut the pieces slightly longer than I needed them, then stitch them together, then cut the scalloping afterwards? That way you should be able to match everything up perfectly. It might mean cutting through the bottom of your vertical seams though, so be careful to oversew them afterwards so they don't come unravelled!
Hope that makes sense, though someone else might have a better idea. Good luck!
