Cutting the Pattern

cellopianosim | Posted in Patterns on

I bought th Simplicity Pattern S0569 Misses’ Knit Dress w/ length neckline variation XXS-XXL and am making their B dress. I’ve pinned my fabric onto the new pattern and I’m wondering if as I cut my fabric out, to I also cut out the pattern. Does it not matter at all???????????:(

    Cutting the Pattern

You can do it either way.  For knits (stretchy) or slippery fabrics, I prefer to trim the pattern first, then it does not get in the way when cutting the fabric.

Best wishes for success with all your sewing projects.
