Desperately Seeking ‘Apple Green’ zipper

natsnasus | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Help! I can’t seem to find the color zipper I need. I have a color chart for all the invisible YKK brand zippers they make but can I find them??? No!! I’ve looked all over the web: SewTrue, MyNotions.com, CreateForLess, everywhere…even the YKK website itself, which doesn’t cater to consumers.

How come they’re being manufactured but I can’t buy one??

Any ideas?

This is the place to go (NAYY)

They sell the color samples, so all you have to do is look up the name and number of the color you want and check their online samples to be sure they have it.

They have wonderful customer service, low prices and reasonable shipping.

Hey! You are a lifesaver, my dear!!! I think I remember going to their website last year but I forgot to add it to my Favorites. You are correct, how can they charge such a low price and get away with it???

Found the exact color I needed and a few others, too.

      Thanks again!

so glad you found what you needed! but in a pnch, remember 1- invisible zips are , pretty much, invisible, and 2- the only part showing, the pull, can be custom painted. i made my 2 bridesmaids' dresses from an irridescent silk dupioni and couldn't fiond a zip that came close. so i found some teensy enamel paints at a model train hobby store and managed to get the metal pull tabs to match the fabric by layering color.

I don't think that would work for me though, as I'm doing repairs and alterations for a small shop and they pretty much wouldn't  like to see a zipper that wasn't at least CLOSE to the color of the gown.

          Thanks for the idea though.

I work for a small dress shop doing repairs and alterations and I really don't think they want a zipper that doesn't match their gowns. Believe it or not some Moms are extremely nasty when it comes to what a person does to their 'precious daughter's' dress!!!

Usually there's nothing wrong with the nylon portion of the zipper, but the cloth has been ripped into because some girls think they are a size 2 when they are a size 10!
