I need to make a detachable bridal veil for my future daughter-in-law, and am baffled by the “detachable” part. She has a beautiful tiara, and wants the veil to only be the area in the back between the two ends of the headpiece. And after the ceremony, she only ants to wear the headpiece. Any suggestions about what I can use in between that would be detachable? Or any books or videos that I should read? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

bellefille: you can attach the veil to side combs and then attach the combs to her hair in the appropriate places. I found side or back combs (about 6 inches long) work the best if you have thick hair. Use the clear ones, they won't clash with the tiarra or her hair. Most craft stores carry them; I got mine at G Street Fabrics in Washington, DC. Extra bobby pins should be carried to the chapel "just in case".

The combs are a great idea. But if that does not work you can always devise a way to sew the veil to a piece of ribbon and sew thin slices of velcro to the ribbon and wrap that around the wire .
Thank you both for those suggestions. I've thought of velcro, but am afraid it will get caught in her hair. But I didn't think of not even attaching the veil to her tiara, only to her hair. I'm kind of afraid to start, but, alas, I must put perfectionism aside and at least give it a try! LOL!
