Detachable straps

Madeleine | Posted in General Sewing Info on

I want to put some detachable straps on my daughter’s wedding gown.  I have seen these frequently on swimsuits and thought it would be easy enough to purchase some little hooks that slide into ribbon or elastic loops.  However, I have not seen those hook type ends that I’ve seen on the RTW swimsuits.  Can anyone suggest an alternate method for the detachable straps or a resource for those hooks?  Thanks!

Here is a wonderful resource for all your lingerie & swimsuit needs.  The url above is for the hook you seek.  The general website address is:

Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately, it looks as thought the website only offers the hooks wholesale with a minimum $50 order!

I also saw them while in a JoAnn's Fabrics store and I am sure they have them at FabricDepot in Portland, Or

Sewsassy does sell wholesale, but they also sell retail.  If you read the description above the list of hooks here is what it says. "SWIMSUIT  S HOOKS $1.25 package of 12, $10.00 package of 144 Clear Plastic.".

Just don't click on the wholesale link.  It just lets you know you CAN buy them wholesale IF you want to.

I have ordered from SewSassy and they are very helpful and the service was good.

Thank you!  I guess I misunderstood the site.  I saw the price for one package, but didn't see how to order them.  I'll check it out again.

Here is their home page.  http://www.sewsassy.com

Ordering information is at the bottom of the page.  They do not have online ordering, you will have to call them.
