Does anyone have sources for lightweight waterproof fabric (like one would use in a nice raincoat)? I need to purchase large quantities for a project and can’t find a distributor/mfgr for that or good quality but reasonably priced fleece. Any help would be appreciated

Check out Rose City Textiles.Website is http://www.rctfabrics.com. They specialize in activewear fabrics such as fleece and waterproof breathables. There is a 5 yard minimum and their prices are wholesale. They were mentioned as a resource in Threads a few issues back in an outerwear article.
Their website is a little confusing,so be sure and request a catalog.
*Try Seattle Fabrics. 206) 525-0670. gives contact info and a list of their products, but you should call them for a catalog and/or swatches. They advertise in "Threads" and have a great store on Aurora Ave. in Seattle: everything from Polarfleece to cotton lycra to "Silkara" to cordura packcloth to waterproof microfibers to grommets to ripstop to zippers to ribknit cuff material to Coolmax(let's see, what else have I bought there???). All kinds of "outdoor" fabrics for clothing and equipment, and a lot of nice choices for rainwear (we're talking Seattle, after all -- I think the weather is the reason it's become the indoor-nerd mecca and coffee capital of the universe). (My hometown, I love it!)
