Hi K,
Maybe this was the reference you remember: In "The Essential Tailored Trouser" (Threads No. 90), author Claire Shaeffer says she can fill orders for 1-in.-wide cotton/rayon petersham (see p. 51).
Good luck!
Rita
*Petersham ribbon is used for millinery. I would think anywhere that sells millinery supplies would carry it. Try http://www.victorialouise.comAlso let us know how your waistband turns out, I have been wanting to try petersham for sometime. Good luck. Lori
*Try Steinlauf & Stoller on 39th Street in New York. Yes they do mail order. They have everything, not fabric but notions, zippers, interfacing, snaps, scissors, needles in bulk, dressmaking supplies, boning, bra cups, they cover buttons, sharpen scissors... basically they take care of the Needle trade places in the neighborhood. 212-869-0321. Thepeople who run the place are nice too. They have been very very helpful to me over the years. You don't have to buy a billion dollars worth of stuff for them to help you. Other folks swear by Greenberg & Hammer on 57th street. I was not impressed. 212-586-6270.Hope this was helpful.sarah
*thanks everyone. I'm going to make inquiries. -jo
