Donating hand-sewn garments to care f…

I applique floral designs on lab coats and would like to see them worn by workers in care facilities such as nursing homes or facilities for the needy. How can I make this happen?

I would contact the director of nursing at a local facility. Right to the source! This is a wonderful idea. There is an organization that gathers preemie layettes and infant burial outfits for those in need, but I believe you donate to them and they distribute. I would rather work within my own community. It's something I'd like to do when I get some time...

*When ever a friend is in the hospital or expecting surgery I "borrow" a hospital gown and applique something personal on the front chest. It might be fall leaves or fruit or a whole neckace of flowers like a lei. Then it goes into the hospital laundry and I wonder who gets it next. I do the same for myself when I get a mammogram, for good luck.
