while surfing the net last night, I came across a pattern for a double breasted cardigan, But it only had a single row of buttons. not what I know to be double double breasted.Can you explain this to me. Thank you

Hi Lee,Were the buttons off to one side? Maybe the other buttons were inside the cardigan and they called it double breasted because the buttons were on opposite sides, just one set inside. I'm just taking a guess.Marcy

Hi there Marcy and Anna-maree,
sorry ladies, the model was standing straight and the buttons were placed very close together but definately down the centre front. By the way Cherryp I liked the coat pattern.

I have seen a pattern similar where buttons are off to one side and I also am on the same thinking lines as Marcy.
I know it does not look like the true 'double breasted' , however, because it has the extra material underneath and you fold over the top part this is where the 'name only' comes in.
