downloading zipped files

user-182649 | Posted in General Discussion on

I am new to machine embroidery.  I recently purchased a Brother 8500 and pes-basic.  I want to download designs from the internet but am having trouble opening them with the pes-basic.  Something to do with zip files.  Can someone tell me how to unzip them and store them in a pes format?  Or is there a good website that can “walk”  through it?  I would appreciate any help.

After I download a zip file, I locate it using my windows explorer.  After I highlight the file name, explorer will ask if I want to unzip the file.  I say yes and then go back to my embriodery program and open the unzipped file.
