Check with the Fabric Stores in your area, sometimes they sponsor classes.  That is how I learned to sew waaaaay back in the sixties!

I was hoping to find something else - private lessons or class.

Years ago there was a woman who had a studio in the back of

her home where she taught dressmaking on an advanced level.

(although she would take beginners too)

Small classes, she had a bank of machines, and was wonderful

at fitting.  That is the type of instruction I am looking for.  OR

a good dressmaker !  Thanks anyway.

Sewing Arts Center in Santa Monica and in Los Angeles offer classes for beginners as well as offer private instruction for those who may be more advanced or just prefer one 0n one instruction. The link is http://www.sewingartscenter.com. Give them a call, they have top notch sewing and quilting teachers.
