dying wool fabric

sharonquilts | Posted in General Discussion on

Hi, I have about 3 yards of gray wool with tiny colored pinstripes. I want to dye this so the pinstripes are less obvious or change to a deeper color. How do you dye wool without using very hot water?

I bought a beautiful 50's wool dress. Looked and felt like wool . The colour was a deep coral/orange wanted to dye it brown. Used correct dye and fixing for wool but the dye just would not take. Maybe some sort of finish on the fabric, or a wool  mix . Very disappointing.

Yes, I know you are supposed to test first ..............................
