EEEEEK! Where are the issue indexes?

usersuz | Posted in General Discussion on

I just switched operating systems on my computer and discovered that the web site where I stored my files failed to retain all my electronic indexes of Threads magazines (over 100 issues). I do a search through Windows Explorer all the time to find a topic in the indexes that leads me to several issues, like, pants or darts or whatever. Oh well, I said, I’ll just go to the Threads web site and download them all again. BUT THEY’RE NOT THERE ANYMORE! I now have over 100 issues of Threads and can’t locate anything in them without reading through each and every one of them. Why on earth were these priceless references to past issues deleted off the new and dis-improved web site? What can I do?

We're discovering several other "missing items." Hopefully this is a temporary situation. You're right, the indexes are very important - and to my mind, so is the logout button. Maybe when the weekend is over some of these issues will be addressed by the mysterious elves responsible. My sympathy for the loss of your files. That is a shocker. Do you know about this site, which has a Threads directory?http://www.sewingmuse.org/index.phpMaybe it'll help some.

Thank you so much for the information and for the sympathy. I can see I have my work cut out for me. It would be so nice if Threads just posted a file that contained ALL the indexes. Nothing makes a product more popular than ease of use. Thanks again.

If you will click on the word "threads" at the top of this page, it will take you to the magazine. At the top right there are some titles (like there is here on this page), if you will click on MAGAZINE there is a dropdown that will take you to the magazine index.Actually, there are many entrances to the index: it seems to be available on most of the pages accessed from those red bars on this one.Edited 11/23/2008 10:54 pm ET by starzoe
