I am trying to find elastic thread in different colors. The only thing I seem to find is black and white.

Depending on what you want to use it for, have you considered Rainbow Elastic? I bought 1mm and 3mm in white, beige, and other colors to mend elastic in sweaters. The 1mm Fine card says "Sew it, Weave it, Knit it, Bead it." It comes in many colors. Here's the source I used:http://www.7beads.com/info/rainbow1-info.htm
I also had been looking for colored elastic thread ... I found (in the bargain bin, no less) "woolly nylon serger thread" at my semi-local Joann's. I've used it for "shirring" sections of summer tops for my teen-aged daughter - it wasn't as "giving" at the bust as the typical black or white elastic thread, but it did work out pretty well. You can order it online, too, I think. The brand just says "YLI", but I'm sure there are other brands out there that are comparable if not better performing. Good luck!
