   Email Alerts

   Oh wow.  I thought I had failed to hit some toggle in the new system and that's why I wasn't getting them.  Thank you for asking this question!

   This is the first time I have received an email alert with the new system.  Strange that the topic is about not receiving email alerts.

   Mary,

   I only get an e-mail alert if it is a message that I have posted something to.

   This site is such a pain with so few of the old crowd here.  It used to be such fun and filled a lot of my time.  I am handicapped and this was a source of interesting topics, good information and fun.  I only joined last year but it was great.  I keep checking in every few days but it is just not the same is it. :(

   Heather, I have not gotten email alerts when I have posted and checked the "notify me...".  For a while I thought it was because I am having computer problems ever since I upgraded to Windows 7, but then someone else posted that they were not getting notified either.  Since the site is so cumbersome to navigate, now, I don't want to miss anyone's reply to me.  I agree with you that it used to be a lot more fun.

   It is certainly ironic that the only email notification I have gotten is about not getting email alerts.

   Mary,

   Not sure what is going on with the e-mail notifications.  However, glad to see you are still here.  I'm thinking too that it could be there is just not that much activity here anymore. 

   I've figured out that if I log in then check Recent Topics there are all the new answers in red to the right hand side of the screen.  Once I click on the first answer that is highlighted I get taken straight to that message.  Then we need to go to the left side of the screen and get to each topic there with the dropdown then each answer is again highlighted.  Such a pain.  But I will percevere (I know that is not spelled correctly but can't think of how to spell it right - LOL).  Oh well, there are still a few of us around anyway. 

   I don't really sew that much anymore but do enjoy reading things here.  Do you check on any other sewing sites?  I'm not really sure how to find any.
