Embroidery design cd problem

emme | Posted in Machine Embroidery on

I have several design cds thaat I am having trouble viewing.  I have plugged in the amazing  box, but the designs are not responding.  Does anyone have any suggestions to help me learn the techniques necessary to load the designs on my computer and download them to blank embroidery cards.   I  thank you for any info you can give me.

    emme high there,

what sewing machine do you have, are the discs the same format as your machine, if not. does the magic box allow for transfere of the disc format you have. the one I have been looking at only allows 4 formats. do you have a digitizing program? I have a janome 11000 and generations digitizing software I have been able to open other formats occasionally, and to make it worse I have no idea how I managed it. sorry I have'nt been of much help.

Thanks for your reply.  I have a husquavarna rose, the hus format.  I am having a problem opening cds hus format through the amazing box.  I also have trouble with downloads from embroidery sites.  I was hoping someone had read something on the subject.

This has helped me - go to the OESD website for the amazing box.  There you will find FAQs.  If this does not help, you can message their tech support for help.  Include your embroidery format and which amazing box you have.

When electronic and mechanical devices don't work for me I am reminded of the poem -- There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead.  (now this is the part I am referring to) - When she was good, she was very, very good (things are working as they should) - but when she was bad, she was very, very bad (the darn thing just won't work for me).   Hope this gives you a smile.

        Best wishes

Thanks Spicegirl.  I got a good laugh and it is only sewing. You have great suggestions that I am anxious to try.  You have reduced my stress level.

When she was bad she was horrid!  Supposed to rhyme with forehead, he he, Mom used to say that one to use.

You are right - I was in a hurry, my husband had just called me to supper!  Haste makes waste, now that rhymes!

        hello again,

can't you simply down load directly to your computer? I just put the cd into the cd player then copy the contents to my hard drive. or am Iwandering up the wrong path, if so I humbly appologise.   lee

          Have you done this?

Load your computer's cd drive with the design cd.

Open the converter box (amazing box, or magic box).

On the converter box main screen, press read.

          The computer drives should appear.

          Select the cd drive.

If the designs are in a folder double click to open, then single click on the design you want to send to the magic card and they should appear on the main screen.

Insert the magic card into the converter box

If you haven't already selected your machine's format, click on one of the "unknown" buttons under the Write Card section of the Converter Box Window.  The Write Selection window will open and you can choose your machine's format.   Press OK..................

            spicegirl,

should have left well enough alone, my computer is linked to my sewing machine by a usb cable I download to the hard drive then transfere designs to the machine. my interest in the magic box is purely to utilize others designs. so sorry if I confused anybody, I really mean that.

I have a Janome 9000 but not the software (The dealer assured me all I needed was the little design cards!!!  yeah, right!)  After I got the machine home and realized that I needed something to get designs off the internet (those little Janome cards are way too expensive for me!) I bought an Amazing Box.  I, too, had trouble....so much in fact that I bought a Designer I that used floppies and bought the software..........no more problems!  I know that isn't feasible for some but it worked for me!  I have now upgraded to the SE and I love it.  I use a 'jump stick' or more often, an external floppy drive and floppies.........I know they're nearly outdated but I like them and get lots of designs off the 'net so they're perfect.

Back to the Amazing Box..........I had so much trouble and when I did get it to work on a rare occasion, I had NO idea what I did that worked!  I was also the 'little girl with the curl'.........  It was very frustrating.

I truly hope you have better luck than I did.................after I got the Designer I the Amazing Box was sold and now the Janome is a sewing machine with a few design cards should I want to use them.  It's a great machine.............just the embroidery feature and me do not get along well!!

        Crazy........
