Hi,
This is my first time on this forum. Quite interesting. I have a question for anyone who can help. How do you do Euro hems on jeans? I’ve also heard of them as “super hems”. I don’t understand how, when you cut out the chunk and resew, the seam doesn’t show. I asked a hemming place in a local mall how to do the hem, but the woman was quite nasty and said they couldn’t tell me how to do them. I guess she was afraid I might take some business away. Oh well. So, if anyone knows how to do these hems, I would appreciate some instruction. Thanks in advance.

Hi Deb, There is another message board called forums.about.com that has a message number 13107 that tells exactly how to do it. I do not feel comfortable just copying this message for you but I am sure you can go to the forum and get the information. Here is the exact URL:
http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?msg=13107.1&nav=messages&webtag=ab-sewing&sr=y
Hope this is what you had in mind.
Mary
Thanks Mary,
This is my first post, and I wasn't even sure I had the right board. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Is this the hem that is on p 72 of the dec05-jan-06 issue of Threads?
Hi,
I don't really know if it's the same hem, since I don't subscribe to Threads magazine. I ususally just pick up a copy from time to time if it has info I need in that particular magazine. I only know that they call it a Euro hem, and I have a customer that would like her jeans hemmed this way. I'm trying to figure out how to do it, and the link Mary gave me has a post describing how to do it.

I have just posted a message under the title 'Hemming Jeans'. I also just noticed your post. Please check out the link I provided, maybe it's what you are looking for.
