Hey all. I’m not regular here, but have a question that might apply. Is anyone aware of an expert in lace textile patterns. I do litigation consulting work, and a law firm I work with needs an expert to look a specific lace pattern and try to determine if it resembles historical patterns that were widely used/known. The problem is we need the expert to be able to locate the historical pattern that might match on his/her own. (e.g. identify charateristics in the pattern we have and say ah-ha that looks like a (insert time era and lcoation) pattern and then find a picture/sample of it that matches.) I may be barking up the wrong tree here, but any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

I know who to ask:)
Go to http://www.lacis.com and contact the people there. They know lace well!
Shannon
Thanks. I will try there.
Good suggestion from Shannon. But if it doesn't work out, try The Textile Museum http://www.textilemuseum.org or the Smithsionian.
