I’ve been sewing for nearly fifty years, and have yet to find a thimble that will fit. Every one I’ve tried has been too tight and/or short to fit my finger. I’d like an open-end tailor’s thimble to fit the middle finger of my right hand – my size 8 wedding band fits just to the top of the knuckle on that finger. Anyone have a source for large thimbles of this type (I’d prefer not to pay hundreds for custom gold / silver)?
Thanks!
Robert

http://www.greenberg-hammer.com (Greenberg & Hammer, Inc.) not only has all sizes & types of thimbles, but an extensive selection of professsional tailoring supplies. The thimbles you want cost less than $3 but they have a $10 minimum- $20 for credit card orders. However, they probably have other things you've been looking for. In addition to visiting their online store you can call them in NY at 212-246-2135, or toll-free 1-800-955-5135.
No association, just a very happy customer- I love their HUGE sheets of professional marking paper!
