I want to make a fabric flower for a child’s top – thought this was in Threads awhile back, but it is not coming up when I do a search.
Would like something simple – I have cut out 3 flowers of varying sizes to give it depth, but it still looks so flat!
Any ideas how to get a more “poufy” flower? I’ve tried sewing and stretching on a cotton knit too – and while that was better, it’s still not what I have in mind.
Thanks

Just how 3D do you want this flower!!?
You can gather a strip of cloth and wrap it around a center or make individual petals of differing sizes.
If you have back issues of Threads look at #111, March 2004, pg 62
Hope this helps,
Becky
Thanks Becky - I should have that issue.

Pinemeadows; There are also instructions for making flowers from satin ribbon which look quite real. If you are interested, I will look up a link for you.T.
There is an article on wool flowers in the January 2007 Issue of Threads.
You guys are great! I think I've found something that will work, thanks to you all!
Thanks again...

When you get it finished, post a picture so we can see it!
