I am looking for fabric for men's dress shirts. Nothing in the fabric store seems right.
*Haberman Fabrics carries a number of English white-on-white and tartan pima cotton shirtings and pima oxford in white and pastels suitable for men's shirts. Can be ordered online at http://www.habermanfabrics.com. They have a swatching service if you need samples.
*Hello, Theresa. David Coffin, who wrote the book "Shirtmaking--Developing Skills for Fine Sewing", says that one of his favorite fabric resources is Ripley Shirt Co. (PO Box 4157, Dallas, TX 75208; 214-9411-0311). Ripley makes custom men's shirts, but they'll also sell yardage for shirts to home sewers. Call or email them and ask for a shop-at-home sample set: http://www.ripleyshirt.com, or [email protected]. Although some sources may have changed since the book was published in 1993, David lists lots of other interesting resources for shirting fabrics in the back of his book.
