My understanding is that Russia and Eastern Europe have a wealth of wonderful fabric designs, but I never seem to see any fabric collections inspired by them. The only one I know of was done by Alexander Henry (called Zhivago). I know the current fashion in quilt fabrics seems to be Japanese, Batik, African, and vintage, but does anyone know of a source for fabrics from Russia/Eastern Europe, or inspired by these cultures? I’d even be happy to know of books that feature such textiles, so I could use them for inspiration.

You should try to get your hands on NYC yellow pages book or business directory. The fabric district has everything anyone could possibly want. NYC is also home to one of the largest groups of Russian immigrants in the world. Check google for fabric stores in the NYC area.
There are large Russian communities in Brooklyn, NY (part of NYC but separate book) and some are starting in Queens, NY, so try there too. You can find yellow page type directories online by using google. Simply enter "yellow pages" in the search and you'll have loads to choose from. Just last night I was looking around for new fabric stores to visit in my region and found more than I can deal with. There are sometimes links to websites for stores too.
