I live in southern missouri – far from any independent fashion fabric stores. Can anyone reccomend stores to shop in the Kansas City, St. Louis, Dallas or Louisville KU area.

Is there still a Baer Fabrics in Louisville? 3 floors of fun
Check out Sew It Seams in Kirkwood (St. Louis). Small but lovely, lovely fabric !!!! http://www.sewitseamsllc.com Baer Fabrics to my knowledge is no longer in business. You should also look at Winston's Fabric in St. Charles.
Unfortunately, Baer fabrics closed over a year ago. We no longer have a "fabric" store. Although we make do with Jo Ann and Hancock's.
I would love to have a great fabric store in St. Louis with a good variety of fabrics. Sew It Seams is at good store - I've thought about shopping online as well but I'm hesitant to buy fabric that I haven't touched. Any suggestions for a good online store that has quick turnaround and will send swatches? Thanks
Fabric Stores in St Louis
This may be too late for you, but here's some info for you anyway. A good fabric store in St Louis is Jackman's Fabrics. They have everything from quilting cottons to elegant bridal fabrics. They also carry hard-to-find things such as unusual trims, patterns from the small independent companies, different types of interfacing, and special fabrics. The staff are "mature" experienced seamstresses that know their stuff. Jackman's is actually 2 stores in 1 -- the rear half of the building is Sunshine Drapery, and has every home dec thing you'd want! Their sales are around the holidays - get on their email list for notification. They also have classes and sell sergers/sewing/embroidery machines. The website is: http://www.jackmansfabrics.com/
If you want a good, online source for fabrics, Fashion Fabric Club is great! They have thousands of fabrics, frequent sales and will sell swatches to you. The quality is excellent, and they will send orders by mail or you can pick it up at their office. They used to have a store with great bargains, but have now closed it -- that saves me money! The ladies that answer the phone are helpful. The website is: http://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/
Have fun traveling and shopping!
