Fabric stores in Victoria, BC, Canada?

We will be travelling to a resort just outside of Victoria this summer. Given that I’m a ‘fabricholic’, does anyone have suggestions for fabric stores in the area? Bargain ones would be great, but any will do. Thanks so much!

Hi Nicole:
I live in Victoria! Here are a few stores you might want to check out:
Fabricland: 3170 Tillicum Road 31, (in the Tillicum Mall) (250) 475-7501
The Cloth Castle: 786 Goldstream Avenue, (250) 478-2112
Buttons-N-Bows: 2867 Foul Bay Rd, (250) 592-7924
Four Season Fabrics: 650 View St, (250) 384-0561
Gala Fabrics Limited: 1483 Douglas St 104, (250) 389-1312
If you're looking for bargain stuff, Fabricland (nation-wide chain store) would probably be your best bet. The Cloth Castle carries a lot of quilting and good home dec and upholstery fabrics, but they also have some good quality garment fabrics as well as bargains. Buttons n Bows carries some bargain stuff but also has some nice linens, cottons and woolens; the same with Four Season Fabrics. I haven't been to Gala Fabrics in a while, but they do have quite a range.
Just out of curiosity, which resort are you going to? Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks for the fabric store info! We've got Fabricland here in Calgary, but we have lost 2 other fabric stores in the past year, and our selection is quite limited. We will see what my husband's fabric shopping stamina is like to determine how many of the stores we'll go to!We are planning to go to the Aerie Inn for a few days. It's our tenth anniversary, and we were debating going somewhere warm for a week or to the island for a few days. Given that we have a 2.75 year old son and a 5 month old daughter, I would rather go somewhere just for a few days. Of course, it also depends on how long the grandparents want to babysit for....Nicole
ooohhh The Aerie, very nice! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I've only been there for dinner but the suites look fabulous. You may not be leaving your rooms for shopping at all!Alexandra, I've never been to Satin Moon--I always thought it is just a quilt shop, but when we bought our house I practically lived at Chintz and Company for their great home dec fabrics!Marion
There is also Chintz & Co. and Satin Moon, both close to each other in the downtown China Town area and way out in Oak Bay there is Stretch and Sew on Estavan Ave. You'll be quite a ways from town though at the Aerie. Happy Anniversary.
