Fabrics for Koos vogue pattern

Phillippa | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I optimistically purchased one of the first Koos Vogue patterns for the dress (made of several different cotton knits) and now cannot seem to find any cotton knits to make it! Any ideas? Someone said that there was a fabric company called King’s Road Farbics making fabaric specifically for his designs, but when I inquired, they said they were not doing anything of the kind.

What is the pattern number? If we can see the design and the prints used in the illustration we may be able to suggest something.

I have the book "Koos: couture & collage" by Linda Chang Teufel, and in the back there is a whole section on how to duplicate Koos' methods. It's a very great read as well. It's available at Amazon.com. I have several Koos garments and the only knits used are the actual sweaters which have silk appliques on them. None of the jackets have knits used in them. It's all applique, piecing & bias trimming, with a little quilting thrown in. So you might be able to use woven fabrics for the Vogue pattern. If I remember correctly, it's rather roomy anyway. Good luck with your adventure!
