Fitting Pants

enidshapiro | Posted in Fitting on

I’m finally tackling the pants fitting problem.

I’ve made a muslin, and hips, thighs, and crotch fit, BUT there is alot of excess fabric in the back around the waistband, and continuing about three inches down the body.    Also, the back waistband, is about an inch too low.  What do I do?

Sounds like you need to pin darts into the back and to put a string around your waist and redraw the waistline where it settles at the narrowest part.

The low back waist could be one of two things.  Either you need more length in the back crotch hook which would lead to the center back pulling down, or you just need more legth at the top.  Depends on if you have wrinkles below the seat and where they point  if you do.  I found that the short cb was really that I needed more room for my rear end.
