Flat Construction Method?

forznuff | Posted in The Archives on

I’m trying to find detailed instructions on sewing with the flat construction method. Maybe it’s just alot easier than I think. I sew for a family of six and would love any advice that will make my job easier. Perhaps some instruction or suggestions on books or videos? Thanks.

Flat construction is so easy, you probly already use it. It just means not sewing in circles. It is used in serger sewing especially. I.E. sew the shoulder seams then put in the sleeves; before the underarm seam. (eliminating a circle--the aarmhole). Most sewing books should talk about it. Look in their indexes. My serger sewing books definitely talk about.
