Fleece binding for sleepsack

heidi0126 | Posted in General Sewing Info on

Hi,

I am what I consider an advanced beginner sewer but I live in a rural area where supplies are limited and I find it extremely frustrating.  I am making a fleece sleepsack for the baby I am expecting in December using Simplicity pattern 4153. I am using a lightweight knit as lining as I could not find lining in the right color.  The pattern calls for fleece binding around the arm and neck holes.  This is not available in my area is there something else I can use in its place?  Someone suggested to me double fold bias tape from Wrights but I’m not sure I will like how this looks.  Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

Check this site for fleece.  You could use the 100 or 200 weight.  I ordered from them last week and got the fabric right away.  You can call them on the phone and ask questions if you need to.  There is also an e-classroom that has a lot of fleece sewing helps.

Do you mean that fleece is not available or fleece binding? If you have access to fleece you can make your own binding.
