Friendship Quilt is done!!

Becky-book | Posted in Photo Gallery on

Having a short deadline is very motivating! Done in plenty of time. It worked out as a wall hanging.  Now back to my fitting issues.

Nicely done. Looks like the squares were done by members of the congregation? I like the variety of styles and symbols.

Yes, there were many contributors.  I did not know until the last minute how many squares I would have to work with. (thought I would have 40, ended up with 42, had to rework the layout!)  We have cross-stitched, painted, machine embroidery, hand embroidery, and computer generated graphics!

    Hi Becky,

The friendship quilt turned out great!  What kind of directions did you give the participants?  It looks like some are applique and some are colored?  What size are the blocks?  It will be a treasure, I'm sure, for the reciqient.

In November the project was started. I printed a sheet of instructions and cut squares of white cotton 6.5 inches.  Contributors were asked to allow 1/2 inch on all sides for seams (some did, some did not!) Cross-stitchers were allowed to substitute their cloth as long as they keep to the size requirements. E-mail me if you want more detail.

      Thank you,

      Becky
