Thanks Mimi!  I saw G Street & immediately read your posting.  I am going to Potomac MD next Tuesday afternoon for a meeting on Wed & Thurs.  The one request for my ride from the airport is to see if she would take me by G Street in Rockville when we leave the airport!  I e-mailed them to see if I could use the coupon, since I'll be coming from Atlanta.  Thanks for the alert!

There are 4 G Street fabric stores, there might be one closer to Alexandria.  Check the website!

Are there any good fabric stores in Atlanta?  My daughter lives down there and hasn't found anything wonderful yet.

There's one in particular that a lot of tailors and seamstresses go to: Gail K Fabrics.  It's on Cheshire Bridge (inside the Perimeter) off I-85 South.  A small store that has fabric stacked on top of itself everywhere!  But, they have a great button selection, trims, wools, linens, satins of all kinds, bridal fabric and a GREAT staff.  Gail could find anything in the store with her eyes closed.  They are closed on Monday.  Lots of quilt stores around town for great cottons.  An online fabric store is FABRIC.COM.  You can't go and shop but they'll send swatches.  They are located in the Marietta area, north of Atlanta.  Two times a year they have a warehouse sale.  Sign up for their e-mail newsletters, as they're always sending e-coupons.  If she goes to the warehouse sale, be there EARLY & don't wait for anyone else to stand at the back door before you.  Be first!  You'll get a buggy (a MUST) and you will find some GREAT bargains!  They only put specific items for sale during those sales - not the whole inventory.
