Garments from tied on rectangles. Which issue?

Sew_Kay | Posted in The Archives on

There was an article showing several ways to tie on a hemmed rectangle of fabric into dresses and skirts about 5 years back maybe. I specifically remember a long evening skirt that had a big bow like thing on the back. I can’t find which of my magazines its in and I’ve tried the following key words in the index: tie, wrap, rectangle, … seems like I tried others too, can’t remember just now. Any help would be great. I still have my fabric that I used for that skirt and don’t know how to tie it anymore. See picture.

Dayum! I just SAW that article recently; I re-read my Threads collection regularly and I remember seeing it; it was the one with the goofy-looking "harem pants", right? But, damn'd if I can remember which issue it was! There was another article referring to Grecian draping, featuring a model who looked like a Greek version of Britney Spears, but I don't think that's the one you are looking for! If i stumble across it, I'll run to post the issue number right away!

I FOUND IT! What you want is "Silk taffeta pareo" and it's in Issue 98. I stumbled across it today.
