general sewing info

My iron is developing a buildup of spray starch.  Do you have any home remedies to clean it?  I live in Israel and don’t have access to the products that are sold in the US.

Thanks.

I would try soaking a towel in some vinegar and gliding the iron over it.  You would probably want to have a cool iron to do this.           :)

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll try it.

The other day I accidently ironed the wrong side of the fusible (again !) so I went downstairs and got an unused dryer softner sheet.  Ran the hot iron over it and it's now clean as it was the day I bought it !  Don't know if fabric softner sheets are available in your area but if they are it might also be a solution for you.
