We’ve had a lot of rain so I wanted something lightweight and waterproof to wear on my bike in the autumn (not a winter glove).
I had a pattern but after I sewed a muslin (my second ever – you are all a great influence to develop better habits!) I really only needed to trace my hands. My first attempt was too small and my second too big (!) but I finally got it to fit.
I used waterproof nylon on the outside and I lined it in cotton knit. They really work! We had a rainstorm and my hands were completely dry and today it was freezing and I wore them and my hands were toasty inside!
For my next pair I’m thinking of adding a layer of lightweight fleece between the waterproof nylon and the cotton knit.

Consider also, cotton flannel as an alternative to the fleece. It should also add some insulation but give you more sensitivity in the hands for manipulating the bike handles and brakes. Z
Yes, I looked at cotton flannel but they only had it in "baby" colors.
I'm also doing my best to only use what I've got for my accessories (hats, mittens, bags).
What a great idea! Thanks. My DH could use a pair like that for his summer job when it is raining and cool. Thanks. Cathy
