Great find in San Francisco

Beavette | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

I just discovered a fabric store in San Francisco that is so affordable it just blows my mind!!! I love ‘Britex’ for the amazing variety, but it is pricey. I found ‘Fabrix’ while searching the web for fabric stores. I needed 70 yards of sheer fabric for covering a ceiling of a warehouse, and I found it at Fabrix for 99 cents a yard. The store is small and organized by prices,($.99,$1.99,$3.99 per yard) so it requires some seeking, but if you have a need for a lot of fabric or even a little for sample garments I highly recommend it. It is on Clement and 4th near Golden Gate Park.
Happy sewing,
Elizabeth

Thanks for the tip! A fabric store organized by price is a delight to this seasoned bargain hunter.I, too, end up doing projects that require me to ask a sales clerk about "70 yards of sheer fabric to cover the ceiling of a warehouse," and I have to spend a lot of time convincing them that it's true and I'm not making it up just to vex them.If you often need cheap decorator-type fabrics at rock-bottom prices, check out Triad Plus in Roseville, in the industrial park on Washington Blvd. just north of the Galeria. During their sales, bolts of drapery sheers (4-7 yards each) sell for $1.00 per bolt, and their back room outlet fabrics (bolts and flat fold cuts) are 50% off already their very low prices. You can be put on an email list to receive notice of sales, and the drive from the Bay Area is definitely worth it!

Thanks for the Roseville tip, I live midway between San Francisco and
Sacramento, so this is great for me. Also a few of my clients are in the Elk Grove area, which is very near to Sacramento/Rosevelle. The sales lady did look at me quite oddly when I needed 70 yards of fabric, and when she asked if I wanted it put back on the bolt after measuring it, she was very relieved that I said, no just bag it! Haha.
