Delicious. And everything tied together so well! Very pleased to see David Page Coffin in the pages again.
Perhaps it was just my perception, but I thought the bias sleeve on the jacket looked somewhat odd. Parallel diagonal wrinkles were visible all the way down the sleeve as it hung on the model.

I must agree with your opinion of the bias sleeves. At first sight, they almost looked 'backward'......or left sleeve inserted on right side. I had to do a double-take on that one and even after a closer look I thought they appeared off.....or odd....or something. JMHO

I completely agree about those bias sleeves; either the sleeve didn't fit right to start with, or the bias made it look strange. Maybe it's because using bias with a straight-grain draws attention, and sleeves generally aren't focal points?
With all the problems I have getting sleeves to fit properly, I groaned as soon as I read the title--"just what I need, more complications in the sleeves!"
There is a Wonderful Old Movie with Norma Sheerer, and I think Joan Crawford, called THE WOMEN. All of the clothes are wonderful and all of the women are beautiful, even Margary Maine!
One of the characters is perpetually pregnant. She has an absolutely lovely maternity suit (she never looks more than 4 months gone........) plaid with bias cut sleeves. Awesome! Gail
Me too - looked at that and thought, remember, don't ever do that.
