Wow how cute and I love those models!!

Thank you for sharing. I did also make my youngest daughter a costume this year and I have to say I was really impressed with myself in the way it turned out. I gave myself plenty of time this year and didn't rush through it.

She truly was the cutest Mermaid you ever did see!!

Thanks so much for your pictures I love to see what people make!!

    Totally inspiring!

You are right she is the cutest mermaid on earth. You did a wonderful job. I would have been afraid to do the tail. The fabric you picked out is perfect for her and the costume. The color reminds me of the color of the water in the Carribean.

Ya the tail is intimidating however I have tried to challenge myself lately and like I said I gave myself plenty of time to work on it,so that is why I was so excited that it turned out great. The sequins on both the fin and the front bodice went easy as I have those creative feet. And I used that to put them on. I actually did the whole tail first because I try to do the thing I think will be the hardest or the most challenging to get it over with then when I get to the other parts it seems to go faster.I know that is a physiological thing I do but it seems to work for me!!And the blue well Giselle wanted of course to be a blue mermaid (I think due in part of the movie Aqua Marine). I love mixing up materials and textures and just kinda pushing the limit on what I can sew together. That is just me. Thanks for letting me share my Costume with you. Connie

Exceptional, Beautiful, Inspirational!!!! Thanks for the re-direction.

Giselle is gorgeous. I'm going to have to show Thomas James (tj) when he gets home from school today. He does love the blondes!

I will be discussing the christmas play costumes with his teacher soon. Told her to get in early!..I picked up Simplicity 8153 on ebay cheap. Newly updated to 4797.

For dress ups I'm doing capes, pirates and princesses. Using Simplicity 5927 and 4944.

For me with winter coming up I have chosen Simplicity 4914. Adapt here and there for everyday wear. I love velvet and it will look good with my knee-high lace up boots.

          Hi Connie,

Thomas just got home and i'm online showing off your gal. He's smitten.

I can actually visualise Giselle/gi-jane...way cool! I have a good imagination...One day a sweet mermaid and the next she's in the services...she's has the true genes of her mum and dad.

Keep an eye out for my wedding photos. I hope to post them next week. They were constructed from medieval costume patterns. It will be a lengthy posting.

If you want to chat about anything non-sewing just email me through the reply via email link at the bottom of this page.

Cool! I am currently going through my official wedding album and the shots taken by family and friends to find the best photos. I need to scan them to the pc. then resize some to focus on the specifics. Thomas is having a great time looking at his family.

and hubby showed me how to make my saved pics smaller so they don't take forever to download on the forum.
