Hard to find patterns help

Linda_Kelli | Posted in Patterns on

I recently came across www.patternstore.com and they are having a buy one get one free sale for vogue this week – and they are only selling them for $7.99 each. I spent $200 tonight and may get thrown out of the house when the credit card bill comes in…

Perhaps someone will use this information and provide a place to sleep should I be dislodged…

    Linda,

If you make it through this one, what are you going to do when its time to buy fabric for all those patterns? Better do it under an alias. Better yet, do what someone on another board suggested....switch the grocery and fabric store records in the check book. (in your case you may have to do this for months....stock up on spaghetti)

*Come on over, bring your machine and your fabric stash. I'll kick the DH out and we'll have a ball.

*Linda,If at least one of those patterns is a really slinky nightgown, and you can get it sewn up before the bill arrives, then you really have no problem at all.He might even encourage you to spend another $200.

*Ouch...this is probably so true. Another advantage of sewing lingerie.

*Do you really need a pattern? or do you want help to figure it out. I don't think it would be too hard to figure out. I would be happy to help you draft it.Sarah

*Received my patterns in 3 days!! Faster than Vogue which took over a month. As you can tell by my lack of responses, I have stayed offline for awhile (laying low on the purchases, credit card bill arrived...hehe...).Thanks everyone!! Linda

*Just last week, my daughter finally found her dream dress for herwedding in a Simplicity catalog at JoAnn's Fabrics. It's Simplicitypattern # 8946. However, when she looked in the drawer for the pattern, there was not even a section for this number. We checked another store;same result. Does anybody know where we can look for discontinued (atleast, we think it's discontinued) Simplicity pattern 8946?The wedding is April 27.Thanks.Sara [email protected]

*Sara, yikes! April 27 is not that far away. I suggest that you contact Simplicity to find out whether the pattern has been discontinued (Customer Service, 800-334-5944, x. 327). If it has, hopefully they will still have some of them, since it appeared in the books so recently. For disc. patterns, write to Simplicity at 901 Wayne St., Niles, MI 49121, and send a check for the pattern plus .75 postage; if they don't have it, they will return your check. (But be ready with plan B, in case they don't have it!)
