hello Robbie, I live in Australia ,Melbourne which is on the south coast. I enjoy this forum very much and have had some great help from various people .Threads is great magazine and I really appreciate the standard of sewing it caters for . The imagination displayed in the graphics and the design of many of the garments which are featured are also exceptional . I hope you a re spurred on to great things !
Hi Robbie
I am another Australian forum member and subscriber (my, aren't we a geographically diverse lot!). I live in Hobart, the capital of the island state of Tasmania.
The forum has some really interesting postings - and can be a really good way to get a solution to a sewing problem. I have also found Threads to be a wonderful source of inspiration, and a good reference for developing new (and revisiting once learned but since forgotten) sewing techniques.
I hope you enjoy being part of Gatherings
regards
Sue from Tasmania
Hello, I'm a sewer from Los Angeles, CA!
Hi Robbie,
I live in Singapore, and I'm also new to Gatherings Forum. It's amazing to learn where everyone lives, isn't it? Threads and this forum have been lifelines for me since we moved to Singapore from Canada. Most of my new friends don't share my passion for fabric, and it's wonderful to be able to log on regularly. I feel like I'm having a visit with good friends in the perfect fabric shop. haha
Enjoy.
Hi there Robbie, I too joined the Forum yesterday although I have been getting Threads thru the newsagents for a few years now, its such a good mag, and much better than any others in England dont you think.
I didn't expect to see someone from England on here, where abouts do you live? I live in Poole, Dorset, not far from Bournemouth - do you know it?
Would love to hear back from you as my friends are not into sewing, although they like me to do their alterations for them when things don't fit etc.
Regards
Julie
Hi julie,
yes I know Bournemouth very well as we live in a village called Headley Down which is on the Surrey/hampshire border. I go to a weekly sewing class and have made some good friends through that, they recommended Threads to me. Keep in touch and perhaps we can swap hints and tips. Take care Robbie
Hi Robbie, yes, would love to keep in touch, so I'll give you my home email address, which is [email protected]. Hope to hear from you soon then!!!!
