    Hello Critterkitty,

While not familiar with the particular model you mention, I do remember a little about my mom's Singer. I've supplied a gif with a general thread path. The weirdest part of threading was the path thru the tension discs. That yellow loop on my drawing is a spring; you pull the thread against the spring (to the right and down) until it clicks over or around a little hook/notch, then continue on the threading path. If your needle sits in with the hole facing you then the thread goes in front to back, if the needle hole is sideways then I don't know (the direction is important though).

If this looks nothing like your machine then my suggestion would be to visit a dealer with many used machines (call to see if they have Singers). Take a pad and draw yourself diagrams of all the threading options possible.

If you can't find a dealer with used Singers then you may have to bring it to a shop and ask their technician for advice. Make sure you do this at 10 am on a Tuesday not at 1pm on Saturday so they have ample time to help you.

Lastly you can try purchasing a general "know your sewing machine" book (which might be a good idea anyway).

*Your machine needle threads front to back or left to right. If the bobbin goes in in front of the needle, then try front to back first. Also, possibly the needle will only go in one way--most often with the flat side to the back. The thread gif by Lin is correct except that the thread goes directly from the tension discs to the take up lever.Try the yellow pages under sewing machines--repairs for the nearest Singer repair center. They can order a manual for you. Or try any repair center that services Singer. Chris.
