HELP! How To Alter Wrap Top Pattern

MoreGlitterPlease | Posted in New to Sewing on

I’m wanting to make Peppermint Magazine’s free Wrap Top pattern.
And after some YouTube research I’m definitely going to go about it differently.

One concern I have is about the front curved seams getting stretched out/ warped. The pattern calls for you to stay stitch then turn the seam in twice (3 stitches overall). I think this will be too many passes and may cause it to stretch out.
And my other concern is with the ties on the wrap top having the wrong side of the fabric exposed. I just think that doesn’t look nice.

These are my 2 ideas. I’m hoping someone(s) can give me some guidance on which is best.
1. Should I create a facing for the curved seam that includes a full lining for the ties. My thinking is this will give the curves more support and give me cuter ties.

2. Alternatively, should I bias bind the entire front part of the shirt with my self drafted lining. And if I use bias binding can i just bias bind the raw edges (sewing it all wrong sides together) or do I need to create a seam first.

Also, if I do either of these do I still need to stay stitch?
Thanks in advance for your help!
