“Help” Matching up Large Printed Fabric

lillycakes | Posted in General Sewing Info on

I need to cut and sew a large floral printed fabric and I would like to match up the motif while sewing it together. I am sewing with a 1″ Seam allowance. Do I overlap the print SA by 2″?
Please Help.

I guess it depends on what you are making. Do you have pattern? Just make sure you mark 1" sa on the first pattern piece and then 1" sa on the next one that you are joining. You can also draw an outline of the flower on the patterns, the way that you want them to lay out. That way you have a guide when you actually pin the pattern to the material. Marcy
