HELP — thread stuck in bobbin holder,
Hi everyone – just purchased a Pfaff Lifestyle machine to-day. (It’s close to the 2014.) We didn’t really do a lesson, as I’m an old sewer, and we’re getting a 4 hr demonstration in October..
But, to-night, as I showed my girls how to sew, we managed to get a thread caught in the bobbin case holder (not the bobbin holder). If it were my old SInger, I would have had it out of there in two minutes, but I’m really stuck on this one.
It’s a front loader, if you imagine the case holder as a clock, the thread is caught between the 9:00 and the 12:00 positions. I can see it well enough to get tweezers on it, but it won’t budge. Does this come apart? (My old Singer did.) I can’t get the needle to go up and down manually.
All help appreciated.

If you can get tweezers in, can you get a pointed scissors in and clip the threads? - especially the ones that are holding the needle down in the mess. If not, I would try loosening the needle screw and you might be able to get a llittle slack that way to clip a couple of the threads to get you started. If you can possibly free the needle and the case is still stuck you can perhaps remove the foot plate to get at it from above. When you get this freed, I'd be willing to bet that the needle thread wasn't in the take-up lever. That is the cause of most bobbin problems. Good luck and happy sewing.
