Help with “Small Leathers” construction
can’t find the type of agenda/organizer to use while travelling ready-made, so it looks like (as with so many things….) I’ll be trying to fashion this item myself; I have an old piece of ultrasuede that actually would probably work pretty well, and – if I can somehow master this endeavor, might even look nice, too……does anyone out there have any experience in constructing something this tailored, in this small a size (probably about 6″ X 8″ finished ?), w/ a zipper closing on at least 3 sides, pen/pencil loops, credit card slots, slots for photos up to 4″ X 6″ , slot in which to slip a small spiral-bound pad of paper, etc. etc……get the idea ?…..maybe I’m just not looking in the right places to find this item already-to-go…would be most grateful for any input/feedback ………thank you !

Flylady offers an "office in bag" which might meet your needs. Just google Flylady and you will find her site. Galey
thank you for your reply and the suggested item/website - very interesting.......didn't find any measurements for the"office in a bag" (may call them about it), but this thing I'm trying to come up with is for pleasure travel as opposed to business travel, and I fear the one pictured on the website is larger than my designated handbag will accomodate.....but the rest of the site - organizing one's life - certainly has me intrigued, so will be revisiting Flylady.......again - thank you !
I've made many, many specialty small leathers for all kinds of gadgets and tools. I use good quality paper towels to create my pattern and mockup case; they hold together long enough to get a good idea of scale and size, and they can be stitched and cut very much like suede. Best of all, they're so cheap that I don't feel bad making many samples; besides, I can always use the rejects to mop up messes!
thank you for your reply and passing what sounds like a pretty easy way to begin what feels like a new and daunting project for me - you make it seem far less intimidating and far more do-able.....muchas gratias !
De nada! (You're welcome.) Let us know what you end up with; maybe we'd like to make one, too!
